Balance

In relationships. In work. In life.

If you need a balanced environment without unnecessary tension, apply for a job with us. We could promise you only the most “renowned” projects or the most “101% people-centric” company culture in the world but… We respect every second of your attention, so we’ll give you the real picture.

“Take it easy”

Our first slogan was created by our employees. At first glance, too casually phrased, but honest. Easy, because everything can be solved. It served us well for years.

However, as the company grew, and we grew with it, we realized two things.

The colleague it all started with

The colleague it all started with :)

Well, not everything is easy

The more of us there are, the more complex things get. Processes, hierarchy, more serious clients. Simply put, it’s not always easy.

Stay grounded

We all have shifting expectations, and we try to keep up with one another but… Real circumstances matter.

Actually, just realistic

As the idea matured, we realized that “Take it easy” is a layered motto.

It’s the moment when a project is really hard, but the company doesn’t pressure you. Or really easy, but the company doesn’t squeeze your productivity to the last second.

These are the situations where we roll up our sleeves and finish work that drags on… But not in a way that jeopardizes work-life balance. The point, the whole time, is balance as much as possible.

No extremes. Just realistic.

“Pancakes sometimes arrive cold :(“

Yes, real feedback. :)

Culture isn’t something you write about. Culture has to be experienced. Still, you should know at least a little of what awaits you.

We’re all different, and this way you’ll know right away whether IT Engine is the right place for you and your ambitions.

A supportive environment

Yes, clients. Yes, profit. But… We’ve ended projects that put the team at risk.

Growth in every sense

You choose the tech stack. Trainings, conferences. You have the support of a Tech Lead, HR and the team when it’s easy… And when it’s not.

No unnecessary tension

Work is complex. There will be pressure sometimes, but we don’t need to create it artificially. It will get done.

Positive

You feel like a person, not a number… Great interpersonal relationships, willingness of more experienced colleagues to help at any moment and share their knowledge. The option to work from home 4 days a week.

Complaints

Pancakes sometimes arrive cold :( I have no complaints about the company other than this one.

Testimonials

What people who worked with us think

When I moved from banking to IT Engine to join the HR team, I had some concerns. I wondered how the employees would accept me, especially since my role required building relationships based on trust. What I didn't expect was that I would not only fit in and feel accepted, but also grow so fond of all those people. Having worked in different industries, I never imagined I'd find a company that genuinely cared so much about its people, their needs, aspirations, professional growth, and expectations. For the first time in my career, I worked with directors, Bojan and Vlada, who not only made HR's job easier but truly understood its importance and actively supported it. I also had a great working relationship with the managers, built on mutual understanding and support. Support and generosity are what I associate most with IT Engine. It's a place where people share knowledge, laughter, advice, and moments of life together. When you leave a place like that, you take away more than just professional experience. You carry something with you that stays long after you've left, and you leave a part of yourself behind, too.

Tamara Kostić

HR Manager

I started my journey at IT Engine as a QA, but as the company grew and evolved, so did my role. I spent a short period as a QA Lead before transitioning into management. Having worked on "both sides" of development gave me the opportunity to work closely with a lot of wonderful people. There were certainly challenges along the way, but with the amazing teams I worked with, even the toughest projects felt like a breeze. One thing I can definitely say is that things were never dull at the office. People worked hard, but they partied hard too! I spent nearly five years at IT Engine, and looking back, I can honestly say it was a wonderful chapter of my life.

Nemanja Turanski

QA engineer

IT Engine is where I spent some of the best years of my career. Even after leaving, I never really felt like I had left. It was my first serious professional role and a stepping stone for everything that came after. Even though I was the only designer on the team, I learned an incredible amount. But what I'll always remember most are the people. We're still close to this day, the atmosphere felt like family, and individual differences were genuinely respected.

David Prodanović

Designer

This was my first company, and I’m really grateful for the experience I had there. I always had support, both from the technical team and HR, which meant a lot to me and helped me grow not only in my career but also as a person. The company had a very family-like atmosphere, which made going to work enjoyable and made me feel like I was part of something more than just a team. Overall, it was a great place to start my career, learn, and grow.

Stefan Pačavra

Software developer

My five years at IT Engine took me from a junior developer to a more experienced and confident engineer, but what really made that journey special were the people and the atmosphere. IT Engine is a place where people genuinely care about each other and where you have the support and opportunities to grow professionally. The best proof of that is the friendships that have lasted long after I left the company. We still get together regularly and even go skiing together. I would wholeheartedly recommend IT Engine to anyone looking for a company that truly puts people first!

Dimitrije Đurović

Software developer

I joined IT Engine after working at a different type of company, one that wasn't primarily focused on the IT industry. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but what I found exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked into the office, I was welcomed with open arms by a young, fun, and cheerful team who immediately made me feel like one of their own. But beyond that youthful energy and all the fun, what really stood out was how professional, efficient, and knowledgeable everyone was. Whenever someone needed help, they never hesitated to ask or support one another. There was simply no room for arrogance at IT Engine. It seemed like everyone approached their work with such ease, largely because they worked together and genuinely knew what they were doing. My only regret about leaving IT Engine is that I didn't get to stay as long as I would have liked. Beyond feeling accepted and valued, both as a person and as an IT professional, I had the opportunity to learn more in those six months than I had in the previous ten years. I gained knowledge and experience I might never have gained elsewhere, simply because I was surrounded by colleagues who were always willing to help, share what they knew, guide me, and give me the time and understanding I needed while learning something new. They opened my eyes to entirely new possibilities and directions for my career in IT. I can confidently say that I'm a better IT professional today because of what I learned at IT Engine. And even now, I still often find myself repeating the famous IT Engine motto: **"Samo lagano" (Take it easy).** Because... how else would you do it? :)

Jovan Vukov

System administrator

Over the course of my 10+ years of professional experience, IT Engine has been a big part of that journey, and for good reason. Vlada and Bojan, together with Sofija, have always put people at the heart of how they run the company. That approach doesn’t come without its risks and challenges, but it creates something far more valuable in return: a supportive environment where people feel secure and appreciated. As the company grew, so did our knowledge and skills. Roles expanded, effort and hard work were recognized, and throughout it all, there was a continuous sense of support and understanding in both directions. In an environment like that, asking for help and offering it to others comes naturally. You build genuine connections with the people who make the company what it is. Even after leaving IT Engine, I still enjoy working with those same people whenever the opportunity comes up.

Milan Radeta

CTO

I worked at IT Engine for 1.5 years as an iOS Developer. I loved this company and its people. IT Engine is first of all people-driven. The owners Bojan and Vladimir are the most understanding, caring company leaders that I have ever come across. The best thing I liked about working in IT Engine is that the company is built on trust, integrity, and fairness to all, so teamwork comes naturally to everyone that works here. I worked with great people and every single one of them is different in its way. This was just a nice harmony of people working in different roles but understanding and respecting others in any way. Hope this will last for a long time in the future. I am so grateful that I have been a part of this awesome company and to have such a leader as Bojan.

Suzana Bogojević

iOS Developer

I worked at IT Engine as a software developer for more than 6 years. When I came, IT Engine was a company with only 6 employees. I grew together with the company and the company grew together with me. I was a part of a lot of different and interesting projects, I met a lot of young and promising people, and attended a lot of parties. All these years, I had the opportunity to watch how young inexperienced developers became top professionals. IT Engine is a great company for young people to start at but also for experienced developers to continue their career growth. It is the company where you can say what you think and nobody will resent you.

Jovan Jovanov

Software developer

When I think about the IT Engine, I remember all the challenging projects and great moments I experienced with the teams. People at the company always created a good atmosphere and allowed me to learn from them and to teach others. I had the opportunity to work with new technologies on one of the biggest startups in Europe. That inspired me to learn more and to improve my personal and professional skills. Today I can say that much of the knowledge I gained, I gained thanks to the IT Engine.

The process of selection and hiring

We've built a balanced process – pleasant enough for you to enjoy the experience, yet serious enough in assessing knowledge to let us determine whether we're a good skill-culture fit.

Internship

Step one

After you send your CV, we'll let you know whether we're a good fit for a first interview. Everyone gets a reply, whatever it may be.

Step two

The initial conversation is with HR and lasts 30 to 60 minutes. You'll learn everything about the company and the position, and then schedule the technical interview.

Step three

In the technical interview, we'll get to know the technologies you have experience with, so we can assess whether you're ready for an internship with us.

Step four

If everything went well, we agree on a start date for the internship, which lasts 1-2 weeks.

You'll get a task to work on during the first week, after which you'll receive feedback from your mentor on whether your knowledge is at the right level to stay another week and keep working on the task.

That's where you get slightly more challenging problems.

Step five

After the internship ends (whether it lasted one week or two), we thank you for the effort and knowledge you've shown. If we have an open junior position, we propose working together.

Otherwise – we stay in touch until the next hiring opportunity.

Employment

Step one

You send your CV and our HR will get back to you soon to arrange the initial interview.

Step two

In the interview you'll learn everything about the company and the position. We'll agree on a date and time for the technical interview. This interview is led by one of our experienced colleagues.

Step three

If you show the level of technical skills we need and we feel you'd fit well into the team (both angles matter to us), then we organize a final interview.

In the final interview, we negotiate the terms. If we reach an agreement, all that's left is to set your first working day. :)
